Autumn 2019 in Venice

Dear All,

Some interesting news on the new exhibitions/shows in Venice for the European Heritage Days on September 21 and September 22.

Tomorrow there will be a great opening, a new exhibition, curated by Karole Vail, dedicated to the art collector Peggy Guggenheim, The Last Dogaressa, from September 21 to January 27 at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum.

In the same days you can also visit the Old Lazzaretto island, which usually does not offer a public transport service.

Don’t miss the story-telling event on Venetian Legends and ghost stories organised at the Ca’ D’Oro Gallery, presented by the writer Alberto Toso Fei on September 21, 9.00 pm.

1. A rarity, Collection Zaleski at CA’ D’ORO SERENISSIME TRAME an interplay between the art of tapestry – ancient carpets from Iran and the Far East – and a visual representation in ancient paintings. Running from March 23rd until July 23rd.

2. Hieronymus Bosch at Palazzo Ducale, from February 18th to June 4th.

3. A precious collection of dressed Madonnas in a beautiful location, Museo Diocesano di Sant’Apollinare, Museum of Sacred Art.

#Wales at the Venice Biennale: …the rest is smoke

…the rest is smoke

Helen Sear represents Wales, the exhibition runs at Santa Maria Ausiliatrice, Castello 450, near via Garibaldi.

The title is a quote from a Latin inscription taken from Andrea Mantegna’s St. Sebastian (Nothing is stable if not divine. The rest is smoke). Exploring art and its different media in relation to temporality and unimportant level of human existence.

A must-see.
